Woodlands Photography in Padley Gorge

I had the most epic two days of photography in one of my favourite locations in the Peak District, Padley Gorge and the surrounding area. The fog lingered forever and although the light didn’t come out the autumn colours and mystical conditions were sublime. I did make a big mistake though and took way too many photos. I think I got away with it but do feel like a left a really brilliant image out there and came back with a number of decent ones. So here they are…

Amazing Oaks

The first selection are of the amazing twisted oak trees. The fog doesn’t often get down to where they are around the river but when it does they look incredible.

Silver Birch

Around this area there are also some incredible silver birch areas. These trees tend to reclaim the land that has been quarried in a hurry and are often found around sites like this. Whilst walking around the oaks is mystical the silver birches are relaxing. I always feel like whispering when I am around them in the fog.
